"아름다운 이국(異國)의 풍물(風物)전"

   다양한 국가의 미술인들이 각 나라를 직접방문/전시교류/워크샵 및 홈스테이를 통한  활발한 문화교류를 위해 구성된 ICC는 2007년 한국(6월)과 호주(1월)에서의 성공적인 국제교류전을 계기로 더욱 다양하고 창조적인 기획전을 마련했다.

   본 전시는 ‘2007 ICC 국제교류전’에 직접 참가한 한국/호주/캐나다 작가 중 일부와 울산을 중심으로 국내에서 활동하는 한국/외국인 작가 중 그들이 해외여행을 통해 보고 느낀 것을 주제로 총 5개 국가(호주, 캐나다, 미국, 영국, 한국)작가들의 다양한 미술작품을 전시한다. 즉, 한국작가는 해외에서 보고 느낀 것을 작품주제로 하고, 외국작가는 한국에서 보고 느낀 것을 작품주제로 전시한다.

   금번 전시는 ICC가 지향하는 방향대로 앞으로도 다국적 작가들과 함께 더욱 다양한 국제미술교류 행사를 추진하고자 한다.  

   금번 기획전에 참가 작가들을 초대해주신 북구청 관계자분들께 깊은 감사를 드립니다.

Impressions from Afar - A Visitor's Perspective

   The International Creative Community, as its name suggests, is composed of artists from around the world who have joined in order to organize vital cultural exchanges. It operates through exhibitions, workshops, and directly visiting other countries (employing a unique home-stay exchange). The group has planned more exciting and ambitious projects for the future.

   Intention: The I.C.C. wants to invite you to Impressions from Afar - A visitor's Perspective, at the esteemed Bukgu Gallery. This show is the outcome of a great success with the originating Korean-Australian I.C.C. exhibitions, and is meant to further celebrate cultural exchanges. Located in Ulsan, South Korea, an affluent modern city, influenced by a vast history as well as new ideals from near and far, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the imagination and perspectives from both local and foreign artists. The participants have been involved in the I.C.C. or are working to contribute to its further success. While those from other countries are encouraged to create art highlighting their perceptions of this inspiring country, Korean artists' will create works pertaining to their travels elsewhere. These are to be displayed side by side as a way to compare our appreciation of each other and the world of art. The result will be a diverse and exciting mutual exchange with multinational artists from Korea, Australia, Canada, America, (and more) in line with the goals of the I.C.C.
