초대의 글

펜트하우스 갤러리 수 에서는 2014년 6월 여름을 맞이하여 초대 기획전으로 영혼을 그리는 현장 작가 김창한 선생님의 전시를 열게 되었습니다. 이번 전시를 통하여 풍부하고 다양한 계절의 변화를 표현한 작품을 기획하였습니다.

김창한 작가의 작품은 남성적인 필력과 화풍의 생동감, 노련하고 깊이 감 있는 과감한 터치로 풍부한 마띠에르를 표현합니다. 현장에서 전해지는 특성을 살려 본 작가의 시각에 비추어지는 작품 본연의 모습을 작업실이 아닌 작품의 대상 앞에서 작업이 이루어져 왔습니다. 그리고 사람이 인지하기 쉬운 대중적인 장소에서 그린그림으로, 계절과 시간대별 특징과 개성이 묻어납니다. 갤러리에 함께 자리 하셔서 작품을 감상하시고 충고와 격려도 아끼지 말아 주시기 바랍니다.

Greetings

On the door step of summer, The Penthouse Gallery SOO hosts an inviting solo exhibition of plein-air painter Kim Chang Han. We designed this exhibition focused on the abundant and diverse changes of seasons.

Kim Chang Han’s works expressed rich matiere with powerful strokes of brush, dynamic feeling on the canvas, and strong touch proficient and deep. The works reflect the artist’s natural and realistic view point. His works have been composed in public places open to many people. They contain characteristics of each season and period of time.

Please join the exhibition and enjoy the art works. Do not hesitate to give any advice or encouragement.

작품소개

금번 전시는 바다의 사계(四季)와 매화(梅花)를 주제로 전시한다.

바다는 해운대를 중심으로 강원도에서 제주도까지 국내 바다의 시각적인 아름다움뿐만 아니라 대자연의 힘찬 에너지와 삶의 역동적인 다양한 모습을 담았다.

‘서핑’하는 모습에선 강한 생명의 전율이 느껴지고, ‘눈 오는 겨울바다’에선 설렘과 신비스러움을 갖게 하고. ‘겨울바다-일출’에선 여명(黎明)이 찾아올 때 포효하는 듯 거센 파도가 미친 듯 부서지면서 오만가지 색상이 터져 나올 때의 감동과 희열을 느낄 수 있다. 밀려오는 파도는 늘 내 마음을 사로잡는다. 거세게 밀려오는 성난 파도를 볼 때면. 대자연(大自然)의 살아 숨쉬는 생명의 고동(鼓動)이 느껴진다.

매화는 지역별 고매(古梅)의 특성을 현대적이면서 개성적으로 표현하고자 했다.  김창한

Introduction

This exhibition carries the dual theme of “Sea” and

of Korea’s ancient paragon “Maehwa” (Plum Tree Blossoms).

I wanted to make the paintings not only about natural beauty, but also an expression of hope, ambition and vitality conveyed by the Korean seasides.

Looking at ‘Surfing’, I feel a thrilling of vitality;

‘Snowing Winter Sea' makes my heart flutter at nature's mysterious beauty;

in ‘Winter Sea-Sunrise’, I see the millions of tiny water droplets fly about, carried by piercing wind. Roaring, the waves crash against the rocks with a ceaseless rhythm. Daybreak appearing through the coal-black darkness is surely one of the highest perfections. For me, it is rapture.

I always am fascinated at surging waves. Especially, when I see dark-blue raging waves surging like mad, I feel beats of life as if mother nature lives and breathes.

I wanted to make each regional ancient Maehwa’s characteristics as modern as possible and distinctive to the paintings.    Kim Chang Han
