I don't know what to say the impression of the great performance last night in front of the Eiffel tower. Just enjoy the art and appreciate all of the breath at the moment...that is all~~~

뜻깊은 만남
Great meeting with Lissa Streeter
어제 밤 그녀Lissa Streeter를 파리에서 만난 것은 신선한 층격이었다. 수십 년의 세월을 넘나드는 마치 한편의 다큐멘타리 영화였다.
그녀의 부친Tal Streeter은 미국 현대조각가로서 기념비적인 많은 작품을 남겼다. 특히 한국과의 인연은 남다른데 부친의 절친한 화가 이대원 교수와의 인연은 감동적이었다.
이대원 교수는 한국미술계에서 많은 비중을 차지했고 과수원 시리즈를 중심으로 많은 걸작을 남겼고 지금도 수많은 대중으로부터 사랑 받고 있다.
나는 1984년 대학2학년 때부터 그분의 지도를 받기 시작했고 내게 늘 많은 관심과 용기를 주었던 분으로 기억하고 있다. 이대원 교수는 여러 외국어에 능통하셨다.
미국인 조각가의 위대한 작품을 잊을 수 없는 것은 그의 작품이 내가 대학/대학원을 다녔던 홍익대학교 캠퍼스에서 매일같이 그 곁에 있었다는 것이다.
정성스럽게 준비한 그녀의 음식을 함께 먹으면서 많은 이야기를 나눴다. 제한된 나의 영어로 70~80%만 이해되었지만 3시간 동안 내 마음을 사로잡은 그녀의 푸른 두 눈을 잊을 수 없다. '인생은 짧고 예술은 길다'고 했는데...
그곳에서 함께 활동하고 있는 이태리 출신 무용수와의 만남도 뜻깊은 인연으로 이어지고 있다.
월요일 저녁, 에펠탑 광장에서 석양을 배경으로 함께 퍼포먼스를 펼치기로 했다.
이곳에서 만나는 수많은 파리 시민들은 낯설고 대부분 매우 바쁘게 움직인다. 하지만 어제 오후 길을 잃고 몇 차례 질문을 하자 매우 친절하게 안내한 분들은 아름다운 파리를 오래오래 기억하게 할 것이다.
It was an amazing that I met her last night in her house.
Actually I don't know exactly how and when I known her but I remember she was very interesting my art through the FB.
She is a historical American contemporary sculptor's daughter Tal Streeter.
Her father's life story hit me like the thunder. Because her father's best Korean friend was a great contemporary artist Lee Dae Won.
Lee Dae Won was a professor when I was a Hong Ik university student in Seoul. I remember him clearly as he was very generous and always pushing my art when I was a sophomore at the University. He was a true respectful scholar, instructor and artist.
Lissa Streeter's father Tal Streeter left many great art works in Korea.
Especially one of his memorial environmental sculpture was at the Hong Ik University.
I enjoyed a lot every time when I was a university and graduate university student.
I can't believe that I met her in Paris.
We decide to make another interesting art plan.
On next monday late at sunset, I and the Italian modern dancer will have a performance an hour at the the Eiffel tower field. I will post more again abou this...

천국의 계단
Stair of heaven
이곳 에펠탑과 광장엔 하루 수만 명이 모이다. 왜 이곳을 세계최고 관광지로 말하는지 이해가 된다.
그림 그리러 이곳에 온 입장에서 이곳에서 많은 영감을 받는다. 이 작품은 50호 캔버스에 그리고 있는 두 번째 그림이다. 대부분의 나의 그림은 보통 1~2주 심지어 몇 달 혹은 몇 년에 걸쳐 완성한다. 유화 그림이 마르고 많은 단계가 필요하기 때문이다.
에펠탑을 마주하고 있는 이곳 광장을 오르는 계단엔 수많은 신혼부부들이 꿈같은 시간을 보내고 있다. 그들이 이 계단을 오르는 모습을 보면 천국으로 가는 듯 느껴진다.
그리고 이곳에 모인 수많은 사람들도 그들의 인생에서 잊을 수 없는 아름다운 시간을 보내고 있으리라...
It looks ten thousands of people crowding here everyday from all over the world.
Now I can understand why this is the best place to the tourist in the world.
As an artist, there are many interesting things to paint...
This is the second my major subject on canvas.
As you know I do not finish shortly when I paint with oils. Usually it takes one~two weeks to dry and to put many steps.
Sometimes it takes more such as a couple of months or years...
On the stair, those bride and groom look going to heaven. I can see those ten thousands of people having their beautiful time here in the city of art especially in the Eiffel tower field.

파리여 안녕, 내년에 다시!!
이곳 파리에서 2주를 보내고 날이 밝으면 룩셈부르크로 화구 챙기고 이동한다.
이곳에 도착하기 전부터 20~30년된 오랜 친구들의 지인들 덕분에 큰 어려움 없이 현지에서 곧바로 작업에 몰두 할 수 있었다. 지인들 모두 다양한 직종에서 오랜 세월 이곳에 정착하며 살고 있다.
한분 한분 거론하긴 어렵지만 나에 대한 특별한 환대를 잊을 수 없다.
아~~ 오늘 저녁 그 귀한 '곤드래 밥'까지 맛볼 수 있을 줄이야... 풀 내음 고향의 향수가 물씬했다. 많은 얘기들이 오고갔는데 다음에 기회가 되면 추가하기로 하고...
다시 만날 날을 기약하면서..,
이런 문화는 한국인의 정 이라는 영어로 쓸 수 없는 우리만의 정서인 것 같다.
