개인전 - 룩셈부르크
The invited Solo Exhibition in Luxembourg
전시는 한국에서 그린 매화 시리즈와 파리~룩셈부르크에서 그린 작품들로 구성되었다.
오픈식은 이틀간 열렸다. 전시작품들은 모두 야외에서 수많은 사람들과 함께 호흡하면서 그렸다.
개인전 오프닝 여운이 가기도 전 독일 뮌헨으로 떠나야 한다. 새로운 그림의 모험을 찾아서...
전시 이전부터 이곳 거리에서 그림 그릴 때 수많은 현지인/외국인을 만났다. 전시 오픈 때는 많은 사람들이 왔고 즐거운 시간을 보냈다. 한국인은 거의 없었다.
그런데 전시장을 찾은 관람객들 중 얼마나 많은 분들이 내 그림과 작품세계에 깊은 공감을 했는지는 잘 모르겠다. 이런 생각은 이곳의 지역적 특성과 사람들 성향의 미묘한 차이를 느낀 것이기도 하다.
그러나 현장에서 그림 그릴 때 만난 분들 중 일부는 소중한 친구로 지속될 것 같다. 그들 중 일부는 전시장까지 나와 내 그림을 찾아왔다.
이들의 따뜻한 눈빛은 멀고먼 낯선 땅 이곳 룩셈부르크에서 작품 활동에 새로운 충전이 되고 다시 이곳에서 새로운 작품세계를 펼치는데 많은 용기가 될 것이다.

The topics of my work include Korean plum tree blossoms, and as resident artist, I painted the picturesque Luxembourg highlights.
I am happy that I can share the 4 big size paintings which I painted in the city.
This is a very significant exhibition. Because I already had 37 solo exhibitions in Korea, Australia, America and Japan. But this is the first time in Europe.
And I had numerous shows of Artfair/Biennale/International-Exchange...
As a full time artist I am planning other solo exhibitions in the world.
The exposition was open a few days ago and I am leaving soon for Munchen to continue painting other subjects in Germany.
While I paint here on the street, I met many local and tourists who came from all over the world.
In the exhibition, it seems that many people enjoyed with my art but I am not sure how much they had a deep empathy....
Anyway I am glad that I made new good local friends. They are pushing and encourage my art with a warm-hearted eyes, especially here in a quite different country.
I believe that art is the best way to communicate with others and get a strong relationship as I did before...

전시장을 찾은 관객 중 한분이 10년 전 발간한 내 작품집을 진지하게 본 뒤 두 작품을 언급하면서 "매우 강렬한 인상을 받았다."고 했다. 저 두 작품은 두고두고 많은 분들로부터 깊은 인상을 주고있다.
A man looked my published art-book seriously and then said to me that the two works are very impressive....
Those paintings were painted in the early of 1990s, the subject are 'Bus driver' and 'Waiting last subway' as you look on the photo of the book.
