Title The traffic accident - ±³Åë»ç°í
Yesterday, I had a traffic accident in front of my Apartment.
I'm confusing whether the God want to meet me early or don't want me now.
Anyway I was so lucky to live more in this world.
What a great and beautiful new world.

The car has served its purpose.
The car has done its bit.
The car has run its course.
The car has been useful.
The car has been used to death.

In this followings are written by David he came from Canada.
At that time he was with me in my car.

Here is my account of our experiences yesterday...

On Saturday, June 10th, I met my friend Chang Han at the Munsu swimming pool. We had plans of a leisurely day, swimming, painting, and gallery hopping. Unfortunately, the day had an unexpected turn for the worst.

After an invigorating swim, we walked through the nearby sculpture exhibition which included among other things, umbrellas with little cars glued to them, large bales of tin crushed into cubes, and of course (comon in sculpture) lots of concrete and stone. In hindsight one could see this materials with different meaning in relation to our day.

Having worked up an apetite, Chang Han and I left the Munsu stadium area in search of something good to eat. As is customary with my meetings with Chang Han, we talked only a little while in traffic.
This is difficult, because normally we are trying to communicate as much information as possible while in each other's company.

There is a truely rich exchange of culture and ideas when we are allowed to devote some attention to it. While stopped at a light, I was afforded that opportunity briefly, and asked about the dangers of the forests in Korea (trying calculate the risks of scrambling around the woods, off trail, by myself). He told me that dangerous animals were rare in local areas, but having heard about scorpions in other mountainous places, I inquired. Chang Han was not yet familiar with the word scorpion, so I was trying to explain, twisting my hands together in an attempt to make my fingers appear as the spider like creature with its fearsome stinger darting in the air.

At that very moment, as if to mock the dangers of a tiny creature, circumstance hurled something far more deadly our way. I looked up and simply said "Oh no". Chan Han's gaze followed mine towards a Large silver Jeep that came screaching across the intersection. It was one of those moments that movies capture so well, as it seems to all happen in slow motion.

A few yards before impact it flipped onto its side and sparks shot out from the grinding steel and concrete as it slid towards us. SMASH! The impact gave our vehicle a serious jolt and shards of glass sprinkling around us was the last sound before that cliche moment of post-accident quiet. We got out of the car and assesed the damage. The accident actually invloved 3 cars. It appears that the Jeep, and a security vehicle (car) crashed, and sent the Jeep flying into us in our parked position. The only person who sustained any visible injuries was the man in the Jeep.

A couple of bystanders helped extricate the man from his overturned vehicle, and besides a scraped up hand and a bump on his head, he seemed like there would be no long lasting physical effects from the accident. It made me think again of the sculptures in the park; crushed metal, concrete, and protective canopies (umbrellas).

Even though we escaped serious injury, we were a bit shook up by the experience. Much to my surprise, Chang Han was still up for visiting a few galleries as soon as the police reports were done. One thing I have grown to admire about my new friend, is his tenacity towards making the most out of each day.
