But to me that is an important painting so I need to clarify. I understand there are many different culture and life style between Korea and Australia. Generally speaking, Australian style is slow than Korean in many case. As I looked and heard many times for 20 years. But I just want to do in common sense and general understanding. Also hope to trust the people that I meet. If she (the gallery) sold my selected big Jacaranda painting before, they should said to me until when I meet her in Gold Coast in the second week of November. Because I discussed/asked with her about our meeting date and place to check all of my left paintings at the gallery. So she took every paintings to show me and then I moved all of those works to another place. But at that time I recognized there is not the big one Jacaranda painting and asked to her to check again but she didn’t answer to me clearly until I leave for Korea. If the work is small or just so so, I will give up and forget. But to me that is an important work so I really want to know where is the painting. So when I came back to Korea, I thought again and again how to do.... So I rang to her again in the early of December. And then she requested to the bank statement. It is not easy to understand about her attitude. First, Why she didn’t request to the bank in November or early of December? They had many times to check my works and the bank too. Second, as you sent me of her answer in the email message is not understanding too, “ that time in 2019 at the exhibition, as she believes that the painting may have been sold.” It seems that the gallery is not professional. I think this is the most important and basic job to the gallery. But they still don’t know whether sold out the painting or not... How can I believer their memory and their work? “She was not very pleasant and seemed very angry.” If you or the gallery director were in my shoes/case, why can do? Lastly, I and the gallery director communication is not good especially in English so I would ask you agin to help me to communication clearly and I really want to know the work’s location. Good night. ======================= P 2200000 84955 2023-ba1, 자장매 Jajang Mae(Tongdo-sa Plum), Oil on linen, 116.8x80.3cm 50P 2022-ad4, 매화 Maehwa (Plum blossoms), Oil on linen 116.8x80.3cm 50P 2023-bc7, 매화 Maehwa (Plum Tree) Blossoms, Oil on linen 27.3x40.9cm 6P 2022-ag6, 매화 Maehwa (Plum blossoms), Oil on linen 27.3x40.9cm 6P 받는 사람 : Danah Yoon +1-818-720-8485 Yn.dana@gmail.com 320 Pasadena Ave, Apt 4, South Pasadena, CA 91030, USA ================ ================ 보내는 사람 Kim Chang Han 010-6591-3338 changhan64@hanmail.net Ssang-yong Hana Bilriji 304-, 92, Samjeong-ro, Cheongnyang-eup, Ulju-gun, Ulsan, 44961 =========== 오랜 약속 A Promise 5~6년 전 현대도예를 전공 작가 작품에 매화를 그려주겠다고 말했던 약속을 어제 오늘 완성했다. 같은 도예작품위에 그렸지만 전혀 다른 분위기이다. 도예 작가께서 어떤 작품을 택할지 모르겠지만 밀린 숙제를 하고나니 후련하다. 그동안 그분의 도예 작품을 작업실에 두고서 늘 약속을 지켜야겠다고 생각했지만 캔버스가 아닌 도자기 위에 그림 그리는 것은 쉬운 일이 아니었다. 수정이 불가하기에 매우 집중된 최상의 컨디션과 영감이 왔을 때 하려고 그동안 때를 기다렸다. 앞으로 이런 다양한 시도가 작업의 영역을 확장할 수 있겠다는 생각이 들었다. 오늘은 아침 일찍 산으로 자전거 타기를 했다. 사는 집(아파트)이 높은 산속에 있고 주변엔 비슷한 높이의 산들이 이어지기에 경사도가 높다. 따라서 강도 높은 운동 즉, 등산이나 자전거를 타기엔 좋다. 자전거 타기는 대부분 포장도로지만 내리 막 길은 매우 위험하기에 늘 경계심을 늦추지 않는다. 그동안 대부분 낮 시간 혹은 저녁에 자전거를 탔지만 하루일과를 좀 더 활기차기 시작해보려고 아침 운동을 시도했다. 아침 기온은 영하의 날씨라 옷을 두툼하게 입었지만 찬바람이 느껴졌다. 그러나 산을 오를 때면 금방 땀이 난다. 그동안 주변의 산을 자전거로 오를 때 여러차례 가파른 고갯길은 걸어서 올라갔지만 오늘은 대부분 자전거를 타면서 올랐다. 매우 뿌듯하고 운동효과가 뚜렷이 증가되고 있음을 실감한 하루였다. 이렇게 꾸준히 이어진다면 자전거 국토종주와 그 이상(동해안)도 꿈꿀 수 있겠다는 생각이 들었다. 인생은 꿈꾸는 자의 것이라지만 그런 도전을 할 시간/체력/용기/경비도 준비하는 자만이 이룰 수 있으리라.... ps. 분재원을 하는 지인분께서 주신 매화를 거실로 옮겨서 자세히 보니 꽃잎 속에 즉 꽃 수술만 있어야 할 자리에 작은 꽃잎들이 여러 개 있는 것이 신비롭다. 이런 꽃잎은 구레 화엄사 흑매에서 보았다. Yesterday and today I completed the promise that I made 5-6 years ago to draw Maehwa (Plum blossoms) in the work of a modern ceramics artist. Although it is painted on the same ceramic work, but the result is quite different. Which one the ceramic artist prefer, but I did my best. Since I had kept the ceramic work in my studio, I always thought I would keep my promise, but painting on ceramics instead of canvas was not easy. As the modifications are impossible, I waited for the right time to do it when the best condition and full inspiration. I thought that various attempts like this could expand my art in the future. Today I went for a bike ride up the mountain in the early morning. The apartment where I live in is located in a high mountain, and there are many mountains, so the slope is high. Therefore, it is good for high-intensity exercise, such as hiking or biking. Most bike rides are on paved roads, but downhill roads are very dangerous, so always be watchful. Until now, I mostly rode my bike during the daytime or evening, but I tried in the morning to start my day with more energy. Today’s morning temperature was below freezing, so I wore thick clothes, but I could feel the cold wind. However, when I climb a mountain, I sweat quickly. In the meantime, when I biked up the mountains, I climbed the steep hill on foot several times, but today I climbed it mostly by bike. It was a day where I was very proud and realized that my physical condition is clearly increasing. I thought that if I continued like this, I could dream of biking across the national country and beyond (the East Sea Coast). It is said that life belongs to those who dream, but only those who prepare the time/stamina/courage/expenses(7~15 days) to take on such challenges will be able to achieve it.... ps, When I moved the Maehwa (plum blossoms) that a bonsai gardener friend gave me to the living room and looked closely, it was mysterious that there were several small petals inside the petals, where only the stamens should be.
