유튜브를 하면서 변한 내 삶
먼저 제가 유튜브(영상제작/업로드)를 하는 동기/목적을 말하겠습니다.

* 저는 유튜브 채널 개설을 약 11년 전 했는데,
당시엔 실험적으로 몇 개의 동영상을 업로드 한 것이 전부였습니다.
이후 작품활동에서 특별한 것을 기록으로 남기기 위해
전문가 분께 의뢰해서 만든 것을 업로드 하기도 했습니다.
물론 이런 특별한 영상제작은 앞으로도 별도로 할 수 도 있습니다.
어쨌든, 당시엔 유튜브가 대중적이지 않았고
무엇보다 업로드 할 영상용량이 매우 제한적으로 허용되었기에
제대로 활용할 수 없었습니다.

그런데, 2~3년 전 다양한 유튜브를 탐색하다가 큰 감동을 받았는데,
미국 캘리포니아에서 뉴욕까지 자전거로 한 달 이상
5천km를 넘게 자전거로 달리는
2명의 각기 다른 한국인 청년들의 모험담을 유튜브로 봤는데,
두 개의 영상이 약 10시간이나 되면서,
고화질로 끊김없이 볼 수 있었는데,

정말 믿기 어려운 현실에 놀랐습니다.
그 청년들의 도전기도 설렜고,
생생한 풍광을 지켜보는 것도 좋았지만
무엇보다 10시간이나 되는 엄청난 용량의 파일이 업로드 되고
전 세계로 퍼진다는 현실은 지금도 실감나지 않습니다.

제가 지난 2월부터 영상제작/유튜브를 배우기 시작했고,
3월부터 꾸준히 영상을 업로드하고 있는데,
영상길이가 대부분 10분 전후인데,
그중 36분짜리 영상을 제작하고 업로드 하는데
꽤 많은 시간이 소요되었기에 10시간짜리 분량의 영상을
업로드 하는데 얼마나 시간이 소요될지 상상이 가지 않습니다.

* 사실 제가 야외에서 그림을 그린 것이
중학교 때부터 지금까지 이어오는데,
그러다 보니 국내는 물론 해외 많은 나라에서도 그림을 그립니다.
여러분들이 짐작할 수 있는 것보다 더 많은 것을 경험했고,
지금 이 순간에도 여러 나라의 현지인들과 소통하고 있습니다.

그런데 저의 이러한 다양한 경험들이 대부분 제 자신만 갖고 있는데
저의 이러한 경험 중 공익적이고 유익한 것들을
많은 사람들과 함께하고 싶고,
제 자신의 삶의 기록과 작품활동에 대한 것을 좀 더 깊이있고,
의미있고, 가치있게 만들고 싶었습니다.
즉, 영상자체의 결과보다도
그 영상을 제작하는 과정이 제 삶을 더욱 보람되고 발전하고
의미 있으리라 생각해서 많은 노력을 쏟고 있습니다.

그럼 유튜브를 하면서 제 삶이 변한 7가지를 말하겠습니다.

1, 삶의 다양한 분야 관심확대: 호기심증가, 삶이 무한한 창조의 대상
2, 정리정돈과 일상의 최적화: 삶 자체에 대한 고찰(방향/목적), 자료/도구/일상
- 스마트폰, 컴퓨터, 기타 삶의 모든 영역
3, 시간(과거-현재-미래)의 개념/의미에 대한 진지함/적극적인 대처
4, 기존 소셜미디어와 관계재설정 : 내용/관계,
유튜브는 깊이있는 내용/소통이 가능하다.

여기는 경북 영주입니다.
This is in Yeongju.
저기 안개 속에 멀리 보이는 곳은
The place you can see far away in the fog is
소백산으로 지난주까지도 눈이 왔습니다.
Mt. Sobaeksan. It snowed until last week.
아마 지금도 산 계곡엔 눈이 남아 있을 거예요.
There will probably still be snow in the valleys of the mountains.

그림을 그리기 전에 유화물감과 기름(릭퀸)을 섞고 있습니다.
I am mixing Oil paints and Liquin Oil before painting.
오늘 아침 일찍 와서 그림 그리려고 새벽에 일어났는데,
I woke up at dawn to paint early morning,
영상편집을 밤늦게까지 하느라 조금 늦었습니다.
but I was a little late because I was editing the video late at night.

활짝 핀 사과 꽃을 보니 기분이 좋아요.
I feel good seeing the apple blossoms in full bloom.
지금 여기는 사과 꽃뿐만 아니라 Right now, not only apple blossoms but also
복숭아 꽃 도 절정입니다. Peach blossoms are at their peak.
지난주 까지는 매화도 그렸는데, I painted Maehwa (Plum blossoms) until last week,
지금 매화도 그려야 하고, 사과 꽃 복숭아꽃도 그려야 합니다.
but now I have to paint Maehwa, Apple and Peach blossoms.

오늘이 제 생일입니다. 그것도 모르고 바쁘게 지냈는데,
Today is my birthday. I didn't even realize it as I was busy,
아침에 집사람이 전화 와서 아침은 제대로 먹었는지?
My wife called me this morning and asked if I had a proper breakfast.
점심은 어떻게 할 건지 걱정하더군요.
She was worried about what I would do for lunch.

물론 이런 날 가족과 함께 혹은
Of course, it would be nice to have a good time with my family
가까운 사람들과 맛난 것을 먹으면서 즐거운 시간을 가져도 좋겠지만
or close friends and eat something delicious on a day like today,
사과 꽃과 복숭아꽃이 피는 것은 불과 일주일 정도 절정이거든요.
but Apple and Peach blossoms only peak for about a week.

그래서 절정이 지나면 너무 아쉬워요.
So when they peak, I feel sad.
그런데 이렇게 캔버스에 그림으로 담아두면
But if I paint them on canvas like this,
늘 아름다운 순간을 늘 즐길 수 있잖아요.
I can always enjoy the beautiful moments.

제가 여기(캔버스)에 그리려고 하는 것이 What I'm trying to draw here on the canvas is

멀리 언덕으로 넘어가는 길이 너무 멋있거든요.
The road going over the hill in the distance is so beautiful.
활짝 핀 사과 꽃을 배경으로 소백산으로 올라가는 것이
Going up Mt. Sobaeksan with the apple blossoms in full bloom as a background
마치 천국으로 가는 듯한 환상, 신비로움을 그리려 합니다.
I want to paint the fantasy and mystery of going to heaven.
이곳에는 자전거를 타는 사람들, There are people cycling here.
신나게 자전거를 타고 천국으로 가는 꿈을 그립니다.
I paint the dream of cycling to heaven.
실제 자전거 타는 간간히 사람을 볼 수 있는데,
Actually I can see people riding bicycles here and there,
저도 자전거를 타거든요. I am cycling too.
I ride a bicycle too.
사실 제가 중/고등학교 시절 In fact, when I was in middle/high school,
소백산에 자전거를 타고 올라갔습니다. I went up Mt. Sobaeksan on a bicycle.
그곳에서 그림을 그렸습니다. I painted pictures there.

고등학교 때까지 영주에 살다가 다른 도시에서 살기에 바빴는데,
I lived in Yeongju until high school, and then I was busy living in another city,
그림 그리는 것 때문에 요즘 자주옵니다.
but I come here often these days because I draw.
어린 시절 추억과 지금 현재 즐겁게 살아가는 제 마음을 그립니다.
I paint my childhood memories and my present life happily.
그리고 사과 꽃을 피우기 위해 농부의 꿈과 정성이 담겨 있겠죠.
And the farmer's dream and sincerity to make apple blossoms bloom are included.
그런 삶의 이야기입니다. 이 그림에서는.... That's the story of life. In this painting....
그런데 캔버스 한 개로만 끝나는 것이 아니라 But it doesn't end with just one canvas,

두 개가 연결해서 그릴 것입니다. I will paint two canvases connected.
너무 멋진 곳입니다. It's such a wonderful place.

지금은 비가 오는데, It's raining now,
어제까지만 해도 초여름처럼 더웠는데, and it was hot like early summer until yesterday,
지금 기온이 딱 좋아요. but right now the temperature is good.

야외작업 하는 건 사계절 구분 없이 하지만 I work outdoors in all seasons,
제가 가장 좋아하는 계절은 겨울입니다. but my favorite season is winter.
겨울은 춥고 바람이 많지만 제일 깨끗하고 상쾌합니다.
Winter is cold and windy, but it's the cleanest and most refreshing.
그래서 사실 제가 겨울이 제일 바빠요. That's why I'm actually the busiest in winter.
야외에서 이렇게 그리는 것 중에서...Plein Air, out of all the things I paint...

물론 꽃이 피는 봄은 너무 짧은 순간이지요.
Of course, spring, when flowers bloom, is such a short moment.
겨울은 마음이 설렙니다. Winter is exciting.
생동감이 넘치고, It's full of life,
꽃피는 봄을 기다리는 마음인 것 같아요.
I think it's a feeling of waiting for spring, when flowers bloom.

영화속의 장면처럼 이 길이 너무 멋있어요.
This road is so beautiful, like a scene from a movie.
멀리 소백산 풍광도 너무 좋고요.
The distant Sobaeksan Mountain scenery is also so beautiful.

어제 지나가다가 우연히 이 구도를 발견 했는데,
I happened to find this composition yesterday while passing by,
물론 사과 꽃도 좋지만... Of course, the apple blossoms are good, but...
제가 6월말에서 7월 중순까지 개인전이 봉화에서 열리는데
I have a Solo Exhibition in Bonghwa from the end of June to mid-July,

사과나무를 중심 주제로 전시하기에 사과 꽃을 열심히 그려야 합니다.
The main theme is apple trees so I have to paint diligently apple blossoms.

야외 작업 필수품: 접이식 ‘이젤+화구박스’ 5종류 소개-1
Plein Air- Pochade Painter Box (Easel+Box)

제가 야외에서 늘 그림 그리기 때문에,
Since I always paint outdoors,
그림 그릴 때 ‘이젤+화구박스’를 사용에 대해 신경을 많이 씁니다.
I pay a lot of attention to using an ‘Easel + Paint Box’ when drawing.

오늘은 여러 가지 제품을 비교하면서 장단점을 소개하겠습니다.
Today, I will introduce the pros and cons of various products while comparing them.
여기 보이는 제품을 가장 많이 씁니다.
The product shown here is the one I use the most.
10년 이상 쓰고 있는 중인데,
I have been using it for over 10 years,

캔버스를 이렇게 화구박스 위에 올려서 그립니다.
Paint by placing the canvas on top of the art box like this.
이렇게 그리면 붓, 나이프, 파렛트 를 화구박스위에 올려두고 쓰기에 편리합니다.
This way, it is convenient to place the brush, knife Paint Box on top of the art box and use them.
이렇게 분리가 되는데, It is separated like this,
여기 밑에서 쉽게 분리됩니다. it is easily separated from the bottom.
이 부분에서 카메라 삼각대 헤드부분과 연결되고 분리됩니다.
This part connects and separates from the camera tripod head.

다시 조립하면 쉽게 어디든지 편리하게 이동이 가능합니다.
When reassembled, it is easy to move anywhere conveniently.
화구박스와 카메라 삼각대를 들고서...

이것의 장점은 굉장히 튼튼합니다. 그리고 안정적으로 그릴 수 있죠.
The advantage of this is very sturdy. And I can paint stably.
무게는 카메라 삼각대 형식에 따라서 3~6kg 정도로 조정이 됩니다.
The weight is adjusted to about 3~6kg depending on the camera tripod type.
이 형식이 가장 편리하고 합리적입니다.
This type is the most convenient and reasonable.
이것은 카메라 삼각대가 Manfrotto-ITALY 제품으로,
This camera tripod is a Manfrotto-ITALY product,

전 세계 어디에서도 쉽게 구할 수 있기에, It is easy to get anywhere in the world,
제품에 문제가 생길 경우 교체가 쉽습니다.
It is easy to replace if there is a problem with the product.

카메라 삼각대와 박스를 연결하는 방식에 따라 3가지 형식이 있는데,

그 중 한 가지를 보여드리면, I will show you one of them.

방금 보여드린 것과 는 조금 다른 형식인데,

형식이란 카메라 삼각대와 화구박스를 연결하는 볼 헤드에 따라 다릅니다.

그래서 카메라 삼각대와 화구박스를 이 철판을 붙여서 튼튼하게 고정시킨 뒤,

이방식이 제가 고안한 방법들 중 가장 튼튼하고 안정적입니다.

화구박스는 쉽게 구할 수 있지만, The Paint Box is easy to buy,
카메라 삼각대는 좀 비싸긴 해도 중고 제품일 경우 쌀 수 있습니다.
But the camera tripod is a little expensive, but a used product will be cheap.

그다음에 보여드릴 것은 카메라 삼각대 대신에 이렇게 일체형입니다.

이젤처럼 높이를 조절할 수 있는데 이건 러시아 제품입니다.

화구박스를 열면 소품~20호 크기의 그림을 그릴 수 있습니다.

러시아 사태 이전에 대략 12만원했는데,

제가 러시아에 직접 가보니 다양한 제품이 있었습니다.

그다음이 중국제품. Next is a Chinese product.
제가 중국 여행 갔을 때 구입했는데, I bought it when I traveled to China,
분리해서 높낮이 조절을 하면서, Separate it and adjust the height,
화구박스를 열었을 때 안쪽 디자인이 잘 되어있습니다.
The design inside the Box is well done when I open it.
실내와 야외에서도 쓸 수 있는데,
I can use it indoors and outdoors,

방금 전 러시아 제품보다는 약간 무겁지만 나름 쓸 만합니다.
It's a little heavier than the Russian product, but it's useful.
중국은 물가가 싸니까 훨씬 저렴하고,
China is cheaper prices, so it's much cheaper,

이런 제품 같은 경우 쉽게 사용할 수 있지만,
Products like this is easy to use,
문제는 파레트 Palette 를 어떻게 고정해서 사용할지 곤란합니다.
But the problem is that it's hard to figure out, how to fix the palette and use it.
장시간 그릴 때 한계가 있습니다. It is hard to paint for a long time.
자세를 제대로 취해야 몸도 안정이 되고 그림도 잘 될 수 있습니다.
If you have the right posture, your body will be stable and you will be able to paint well.

끝으로 국내 인터넷에서 관련제품을 검색하다가 발견한 건데,
Finally, I found this while searching for related products on the domestic internet.
이 제품도 괜찮은 것 같습니다. This product seems to be good too.
‘휴대용 접이식 조절식 알루미늄 금속 이젤’ 3만원으로
The ‘Portable Foldable Adjustable Aluminum Metal Easel’ costs 30,000 KRW.
매우 실용적으로 쓸 수 있습니다. It can be used very practically.

단점은 다리의 강도가 한계가 있고, But the legs will not strong,
유화나 아크릴 작업용 파렛트를 고정할 판이 너무 좁기에 보완이 필요합니다.
The plate for fixing the Palette for Oil or Acrylic painting is too narrow, so it needs to be supplemented.
어쨌든 매우 저렴한 기성제품으로 나름 매력적입니다.
Anyway, it is a very cheap ready-made product, so it is attractive in its own way.
해외로 혹은 산이나 야외로 멀리 그림 그리러 갈 때,

야외작업용‘이젤+화구박스’를 소개하겠습니다.
Let me introduce about the Plein Air Painting ‘Easel + Paint Box’.
5가지 종류가 있는데, 물론 실내에서도 사용할 수 있습니다.
There are five types, of course it can use indoors as well.
모두 접이식이기에 야외작업을 중심으로 얘기하겠습니다.
Since they are all foldable, I will talk about Plein Air Painting.
첫 번째 러시아 제품, 두 번째 중국 제품, 세 번째 프랑스 제품,
First Russian product, Second Chinese product, Third French product,
네 번째 다섯 번째는 이탈리아와 한국제품 조합입니다.

네 가지 관점에서 볼 수 있는데,

첫째 편리하게 쓸 수 있는가? First, is it convenient?
둘째 강하고 튼튼한가? Second, is it strong and durable?
셋째 가벼운가? Third, is it light?
넷째 합리적인 가격인가? Fourth, is it reasonably price?

위 네 가지 관점에서 어느 제품이 가장 좋을지를 얘기하면,

먼저, 단일제품으로서는 러시아 제품이 가장 좋다고 생각합니다.
가격은 약 10만원(2000년 초), 무게 약3kg,
First, as a single product, I think the Russian product is the best.
The price is about 100,000 KRW (early 2000), the weight is about 3kg,

연결하는 부분을 봤을 때 아주 견고하고 튼튼합니다.
The connecting part is very sturdy and strong.
튼튼하고 편리하고 배우 가벼워서 여러모로 만족합니다.
It is sturdy, convenient, and very light, so I am satisfied in many ways.

캔버스 20호 크기 정도까지가 한계입니다.
The limit is about the size of canvas No. 20.
경우에 따라 소품과 50호 캔버스도 그릴 수 있습니다.

이렇게 이용할 수 있습니다.

작은 건 이렇게 올려서 그리고, 큰 건 이렇게 사용합니다.

어쨌든 러시아 제품 가볍고 튼튼하고 편리합니다.

Manfrotto-ITALY 카메라 삼각대와 연결한 걸 비교하면 훨씬 약합니다.

저쪽 제품은 엄청난 강도를 갖고 있기에 비교가 안 됩니다.
The other product has tremendous strength, so there is no comparison.
그러나 일체형 제품을 봤을 때 러시아 제품이 가장 좋습니다.

그다음, 살펴본 것이 중국제품입니다.
Next, I looked at Chinese products.
몇 년 전(2018~2019) 중국 방문 때 5만원에 샀는데,

야외 악조건에서 사용할 때 여러 가지 우려됩니다.
There are various concerns when using it in difficult outdoor conditions.
그래서 좀 더 보완한 뒤 사용하려고 합니다.
So I plan to use it after making some more improvements.

어쨌든 중국제품은 무게 약5kg, 가격 약 5만원, 현재는 다를 겁니다.
Anyway, the Chinese product weighs about 5kg, costs about 50,000 KRW.
It will be different now.
코로나 펜데믹 이전 가격이라서 It is the price before the Corona pandemic,

러시아 제품은 가격이 약 10만원,
The Russian product costs about 100,000 KRW.
어쨌든 다리 두 개를 비교했을 때 러시아 제품이 훨씬 더 좋습니다.

무게는 훨씬 더 가벼운데 비해서, It is much lighter,

그 다음, 프랑스제품은 야외용으로 써도 되고 실내용으로도 충분합니다.

앞뒤로 편리한 기능이 다양하게 있는데,

연결하는 방식은 다양합니다. There are various ways to connect it.
이것은 무게가 약 6kg. 무게가 만만한 건 아닌데, This weighs about 6kg. It's not light,

그런데 이건 카메라 삼각대를 가벼운 걸 이용하면 무게를 낮출 수 있습니다.
But it is passible to reduce the weight by using a light camera tripod.
저는 중고 제품을 싸게 샀습니다. I bought a used one for cheap.
카메라 삼각대와 박스를 약 10만원에 살 수 있고,

그래서 저는 물건을 조심해서 쓰고, So I use the item carefully,
