Biography 1st period (1964~1991) I have loved drawing since elementary school and participate in art activities after school. Build my art foundation while working hard and enjoying the joy of drawing. I mainly like outdoor painting. After majoring in Western painting at art college and graduate school, I graduated in 1991. 2nd period (1991~2010) I started painting realism-style paintings that emphasized the conflicts in my personal life, but as time went by, I began to move my canvases outdoors, painting the utopia of a life as free as a dragonfly in various ways, in harmony with pure nature through the ‘Dragonfly Seasons’ series. Pictures of living things (dragonflies, wind, etc.) and real life. Emphasis on dynamic tension in the picture, painting concrete objects but in an abstract and complex way. In particular, interest and exchanges have expanded to many countries through active work activities in overseas countries (France, Luxembourg, Germany, Australia, Myanmar, China) in 2018 and 2019. 3rd period (2010~2019) In 2010, the world of work was developed specifically with the publication of the first Art-book. Starting in 2003, interest in Maehwa the field work was carried out at stations across the country, and the scope of interest in field work began to expand with the ‘Sea ? Vital Fantasy’ series. Since 2005, I have visited Australia frequently, and have also visited other countries, bringing about changes in my artistic world. 4th period (2020~) Various production activities were planned in China/Russia/Singapore/Australia/Europe/Myanmar in 2020, but have been postponed due to the Covid pandemic. I looked your Instagram which looks good. I had a good time since I visited in Europe in 2024. As a full time painter, I had very busy times in Korea and overseas in Australia, China and Vietnam. This year, I also have many schedule for painting and exhibitions. Hello, my wonderful friend! I'm currently planning a trip to Europe from early April to mid-May this year. My first stop will be Venice, Italy. After painting there, I'll visit Munich and Essen, Germany. I'm excited to visit Germany again. Germany is truly a beautiful and interesting country. The buildings are stunning, the nature is beautiful, and I also love the many gentlemen Germans have. And the cityscapes, with their many bicycles, are so captivating that I want to paint them. I also ride my bike a lot in Korea to improve my health. I and my wife will be staying in Munich, Germany, for about a week, starting around April 19th. The exact dates will need to be finalized once we finalize our stay in Italy, but even if our schedule changes, we'll likely adjust it by three or four days. I have two related questions. First, is it still possible to surf the Eisbach River in the English Garden these days? If I can't see surfing there in Spring, are there any other places around there where I can paint while observing other surfing scenes? As you know, river surfing in Munich is my favorite subject for painting in all of Europe. Second, could you recommend a place where I can stay for a cheap price while I'm in Munich? Or, if you introduce me to stay for free, I can give them one of my oil painting on canvas as a token of my appreciation. They can choose a new painting from Munich, or one from Korea or elsewhere.
