2022 울산시립미술관 작품수집 공모公募 선정작품 – ‘일출-간절곶’ A new collection of Ulsan Art Museum : The rising sun in Gangeolgot 일출-간절곶 2013, Oil on linen 162.2x227.2cm 150P 위 공개공모에 출품한 그림은 2013년 겨울바다 간절곶(울산)에서 치열하게 그렸는데 10년이 지났지만 방금 그린 듯 색의 싱싱함과 마티에르가 건강하게 살아있다. 아끼던 작품이라 공모출품을 망설였지만 오랜세월 미술관에서 안전하게 관리하면서 겨울바다 간절곶의 역동적인 가슴 벅찬 감동을 널리 알리기를 기대한다. 겨울이 오면 다시 그곳으로 달려가 150P 캔버스 두 점이 연결되는 ‘일출-간절곶’을 그릴 것이다. 겨울바다 현장작업이 결코 만만치 않음을 많은 경험을 통해 알기에 앞으로 해야 할 가장 큰 일은 최상의 육체적 정신적 상태와 필력을 유지하는 것이다. 모든 것이 원만히 진행되길 기원하면서... . Recently, they decided to collect one of my painting, among my selection of big size works, through the competition (public subscription). It has been 10 years since I've drawn the pating that I submitted to a new collection of Ulsan Art Museum, which was newly opened. Although, after all those years, vividness of color and matière were freshly alive just like 2013, when I struggled to paint at winter ocean of Ganjeolgot. Because of value I give to this work, I've hesitated a lot about submitting this work to the collection. However, now I wish for safe care for the painting and to spread dynamic and overwhelming impression of winer ocean, widely. Now, I'm waiting for winter to paint another twice 150P canvas size "Sunrise-Ganjeolgot". I know how hard it is to work on sight in middle of winter ,so in the mean time the most priority is to maintain my best both physically and mentaly.
