미얀마 현대미술 작가 7분을 소개하면서...

나는, 2018, 2019 미얀마 전역(Yangon, Bagan, Inle, Magway...)을 현지작가들과 현장에서 그림을 그렸다. 미얀마 현지에서 직접 피부로 느끼면서 깊은 감동을 받았다. 그래서 다시 그곳에서 작품활동 하려고 그림과 작업도구를 남겨두고 왔지만 코로나 펜데믹과 미얀마의 정치적 갈등으로 방문시기가 늦어지고 있다.
2022 인천 코리아 아트페스티벌 초대로 본인과 미얀마 현대미술 대표작가 민와앙 Min Wae Aung 의 작품을 소개했다. 이번엔 미얀마 대표도시 양곤Yangon과 바간Bagan을 중심으로 활동하는 대표작가 7분의 작품을 소개한다. 두 차례에 걸쳐 미얀마 작가들의 작품이 한국에 도착했고 이곳에 오기까지 많은 신경이 쓰였지만 무사히 전시를 할 수 있어서 기쁘다.
미얀마에서 한국으로 작품을 DHL로 보낼 때 드는 비용이 미얀마 보통사람들의 한 달 월급과 비슷하다. 부디 이번에 소개된 작품들이 많이 판매되어 정말 힘들고 어려운 시간을 보내고 있는 그들에게 큰 힘이 되기를 기원한다.
아름다운 영혼의 맑고 순수한 미얀마 작가들의 소중한 작품을 이곳에 전시하도록 초청해준 인천 미술협회 관계자 모든 분께 깊이 감사드린다.

Introducing distinguished 7 Myanmar contemporary artists...

I painted on-site with local artists throughout Myanmar (Yangon, Bagan, Inle, Magway...) in 2018 and 2019. I got strong impression in the country. So, I left my paintings and work tools behind to work there again, but my visit is being delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic and political conflict in Myanmar.
As an invitation to the 2022 Incheon Korea Art Festival, I introduced the works of myself and Min Wae Aung, a representative artist of Myanmar contemporary art. This time, we introduce the works of seven representative artists working mainly in Yangon and Bagan, the representative cities of Myanmar. The works of Myanmar artists arrived in Korea on two occasions, and although it took a lot of nerve to get here but I am glad that they were able to be exhibited safely.
The cost of sending a work from Myanmar to Korea via DHL is similar to the monthly salary of an ordinary person in Myanmar. I hope that the works introduced this time will sell a lot and be of great help to those who are going through a really difficult and difficult time.
Finally, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all involved in the Incheon Art Association for inviting us to exhibit here the precious works of Myanmar artists with beautiful and pure souls.
