호주에서 보고 느낀 강한 인상 중 하나는, 거리에서 다양한 종류의 자동차들이 있었다는 것과 그 중 상당수의 자동차들이 10년20년도 아닌 30년 40년이나 지난 오래된 차들을 자연스럽게 볼 수 있었다는 것이다. "70년대에 제작된, 그리고 흑백영화에 볼 수 있었던 차들이라"고 호주인 친구가 내게 말해줬다.
